šŸŒŸIllustfolio Lumina October Update

New cover layouts, New mobile navigation, Custom link

Hi, this is Showkaku Sano. I recently traveled to Germany and Hungary, and both were amazing placesā˜ŗļø

Hereā€™s the October update! Iā€™ve added new features this time as well, so I highly recommend updating your theme. For details on how to update, please check out the ā€Update the Themeā€ in the Help page.

ā€

New Cover Image Layouts

Iā€™ve added a new layout option for cover images, now giving you a total of four styles to choose from:

  • Square (default): A layout where your profile and cover image sit side-by-side, making your profile easy to see at a glance.

  • Portrait: Displays a larger cover image than the Square layout.

  • Landscape: Shows a wide, landscape-style image, with a look similar to Illustfolio 4.

  • Full: Uses the full height of the browser for a dynamic, immersive image display.

New mobile navigation

Iā€™ve re-designed the header navigation for mobile. It now sticks to the top of the browser while scrolling, making it easy to access other pages without needing to scroll back up.

Add Your Favorite Social Accounts

Iā€™ve added two customizable options [Custom Link 1] and [Custom Link 2], allowing you to add any social accounts you like.

This lets you include services not offered in the preset options (like Twitch or Discord) on your profile. You can add up to two custom links.

Coming Up Next

This may not be as relevant for current users, Iā€™m considering creating a free demo version of the theme.

Though Iā€™ve set up a demo site, I thought it might be helpful for users to try it with their own illustrations to get a better sense of the theme. The plan is for the demo to include a ā€œDemo Versionā€ watermark, but to allow any settings configured in the demo to carry over to the full version if purchased. I hope this will help potential users in making a decision.

When Will It Be Official?

In this update, Iā€™d like to address a question many of you may have: when will early access end?

The plan is to move to the official release around late November to early December. So, by the time the next newsletter arrives, the theme might already be in its official version.

The purpose of early access was to let users try the theme while it was still being developed. This way, I could gather feedback and improve it. In other words, early access will end when all the planned features are finished and the theme works well for most users.

Since launching early access in August, Iā€™ve continued interviewing various illustrators to gather insights. Based on the feedback Iā€™ve received, Iā€™m confident that Illustfolio Lumina is ready for its official release.

What Will Change in the Official Release?

Even with the transition from early access to the official version, not much will change. Theme updates will continue, and I will still welcome feedback. The price will remain the same as well.

Think of early access as a period where I was actively gathering feedback.

Please share your feedback on this update and any product suggestions you might have. You can reply directly to this email or send your comments to the contact information provided in the help section. Iā€™m also always open to other feedback and questions.

Thatā€™s all for this monthā€™s newsletter. If you havenā€™t purchased the theme yet, you can do so from here!

See you next time!
